SUSAN M.TILLIS FOUNDATION
Serving Those Who Serve
RED, WHITE AND BUNDLED

The mission of the Susan M. Tillis Foundation is to recognize and support active duty junior enlisted families with newborns through our RED, WHITE AND BUNDLED program.

Every junior enlisted service member, E6 and below, who has a baby born at Fort Bragg's Womack Army Medical Center receives a "gift bundle" of basic layette items.  The annual income for the recipient families is approximately $21,000.  Many of these new parents in addition to having limited financial resources are often separated by distance from family and friends and often lack the basic necessities just to bring their babies home from the hospital.  All too often the RED, WHITE AND BUNDLED from the SMTF is the only gift they receive. While the gift is seemingly small, the impact is huge as evidenced by some of the thank you notes we have received:

Most of the items included in the layette are donated at events hosted by supporters and held throughout the year or through our online Amazon Gift Registry.  Other needs, such as special requests for car seats, strollers and cribs, are met with the proceeds from grants and financial donations.

The culmination of our year is the annual RED, WHITE AND BUNDLED baby shower held in the spring. Volunteers and supporters from across the Carolinas celebrate our military families among thousands of onesies, handmade quilts, sleepers, toys and mountains of diapers.

RED, WHITE, AND BUNDLED grew out of a visit by Susan Tillis, the program's founder, to Fort Bragg in early 2015 where she saw firsthand the needs of our soldiers' families.  A few weeks later, with the help of a small network of volunteers, the first annual RED, WHITE, AND BUNDLED baby shower was held in the Cornelius, NC Town Hall Community Room.  Since our founding, RED, WHITE AND BUNDLED has provided gifts to over 8,000 babies.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors serve as local SMTF representatives across our service areas.  They promote the Foundation and coordinate donations and events in their communities. They also assist with the annual Baby Bundles Shower in the Spring of each year.

Their efforts provide a broader awareness of the SMTF and our mission and  the supply the momentum for the Foundation's continued growth.  If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, please contact us.
